Matwork - Oxford

Our classes are run as a course (we do not do drop-in style classes), and cost £9 per hour class, booked as a block (up to 12 participants). Beginner's classes cost £10 per hour class (up to 10 participants). For more information about what Pilates is please click here.

Course dates may vary slightly due to teacher absence, in which case we will add a class to the end of the course as a replacement.

We are now taking bookings for January 2018, however we do have a few spaces left in current classes so if you'd like to join a class before then, please contact us.

We are Chartered Physiotherapists and practice modified / clinical Pilates having completed training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI).

We recommend that all new beginners arrange a 1:1 session with the teacher (half an hour, cost £20) prior to joining a course to go over the basics and any individual requirements. This is recommended practice by the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute.

Advanced classes are for participants who are fit and injury free; if you currently have an injury, particularly a back problem, a beginner's or intermediate class may be more suitable.

All you need to bring to the class is a small towel to use as a head support, and wear loose or flexible clothing. Mats and Pilates equipment are provided at the University Club. At the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, mats are not provided and you will need to bring your own.

Pilates - Matwork

Our Oxford classes are run as a course (we do not do drop-in style classes).

Classes are booked online and payment is via Paypal. If you do not have a Paypal account, you will have the option to enter your credit / debit card details into the Paypal website without registering an account: please click on the 'Don't have a Paypal account?' link when you book.

When you have booked your place, please download and complete our registration form here and bring a signed printed copy to your first class (please do not send by email).

If you would like to join part-way through a current course, please check below for availability and contact us re: pricing.

Beginners / 'Gentle' classes are for people who have never done Pilates, or people who prefer a more gentle pace, have back problems or are recovering from injury. Beginners will need to arrange a half-hour 1:1 introductory session before starting the course. This is recommended practice by the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and is a pre-requisite to starting the course. Please book your place and contact us to arrange this. The cost for the 1:1 session is £20, payable directly to the teacher (cash or cheque).

Intermediate classes are mixed level depending on the ability of the group, with some advanced options given. If you are recovering from injury please contact us and if needed we can arrange a 1:1 session to check whether an intermediate class is suitable for you or if it would be best to go back to basics in a beginner's class.

*NEW* Sports / Advanced class is suitable for anyone looking for more of a challenge (particularly rowers, cyclists, runners, triathletes - but all welcome). This will include 30 minutes core strength work-out and 15 minutes flexibility, a vital part of every training programme. Participants should be fit and injury-free: if you are recovering from injury please contact us to discuss before booking; a beginner's or intermediate class may be more suitable depending on your stage of rehab.
