Physiotherapy, Pilates, Acupuncture, Sports Massage and treatment of Sports Injuries

At Oxford Sports Physio we strive to optimise human movement and function, whether for athletic performance or for everyday life. We place a strong emphasis on rehabilitation and prevention of recurrence of pain or injury.

We are Chartered Physiotherapists, specialising in Musculoskeletal problems. Anna Jenkins (née Anna Reid) established Oxford Sports Physio & Pilates at the Oxford University Club in 2008 whilst working part-time at the Manor Hospital in Oxford, and later as Team Leader of an NHS Physiotherapy Outpatient department.

Since September 2015, Oxford Sports Physio & Pilates has formed an exciting new partnership with TOPS (The Oxford Physiotherapy Service), the largest independent physiotherapy clinic in Oxford, based in Summertown. We have a dynamic team across the clinics, with a joint Continued Professional Development programme. You can book an appointment at either the Oxford University Club, Summertown, Oxford Brookes University or Wallingford clinics using our online booking system or by contacting us by telephone on the appointment line above.

Sports Injuries

Sports Injuries

Our Oxford clinic adjoins a gym which we can use to analyse your running, rowing or cycling technique and set up a strength and conditioning or rehab programme.

Treatment may include joint mobilisations / manipulation, myofascial release, sports massage, acupuncture, kinesio-taping, as well as advice and exercise.

We have close links for referrals to Consultants in Sports and Exercise Medicine and we can refer for private MRI if further investigation or imaging is required.

Not a Sports Injury?

Not a Sports Injury?

We do not just deal with sports people. A lot of our work involves helping people with back or neck pain, shoulder, hip, knee and other musculoskeletal problems.

These may result from everyday life, postural problems, long hours sitting at a desk or in the lab, or following injury, illness or surgery.

We can help with pain resulting from a range of causes, from arthritis to hypermobility. We will communicate with your GP and suggest referral for specialist opinion if we feel that further investigation is required.

Pilates is the key to all movement and benefits every client. Working with Pilates and the Reformer I have learnt how important these disciplines are not only to elongate, strengthen and improve muscle tone and flexibility but also to prevent and recover from injury, improving quality of life.
