Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. Physiotherapy will involve a thorough assessment of the problem which will be fully explained to you with a management plan. Treatment may include:

  • Exercise
  • Joint mobilisations / manipulation
  • Massage / soft tissue release
  • Acupuncture
  • Taping
  • Education and advice
  • Self-treatment techniques
  • Referral for specialist opinion where appropriate

At Oxford Sports Physio we strive to optimise human movement and function, whether for athletic performance or for everyday life. We place a strong emphasis on rehabilitation and prevention of recurrence of pain or injury.

We deal with a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, sporting and non-sporting injuries. These are some of the things which we can help with:

  • Neck and back pain
  • Shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand problems
  • Non-specific arm pain (often related to typing / repetitive or prolonged postures)
  • Hip, knee and ankle problems
  • Sciatica
  • Arthritis
  • Hypermobility
  • Postural problems
  • Sports injuries
  • Biomechanical analysis or running or cycling technique
  • Non-sporting and work related injuries
  • Muscle, joint, tendon or ligament problems
  • Rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery

We will communicate with your GP and suggest referral for specialist opinion if we feel that further investigation is required.
